The brilliant Moroccan star Sofiane Rahimi led Al Ain to win the UAE Football League title for the fifteenth time in its history, and the first since the 2021-2022 season, after a big and deserved victory over hosts Sharjah with a score of (5-0) in the match that brought them together yesterday, Wednesday, at Sharjah Stadium, as part of the 24th round of the competition.
This crowning confirms Al Ain Club’s football dominance in the UAE scene and highlights the exceptional performance delivered by Sofiane Rahimi, Al Ain, and his teammates throughout the season.
The “Boss” was able to secure the title two rounds before the end of the UAE league, after delivering a wonderful and historic football evening yesterday. The 5-0 victory over Sharjah is the biggest win in the history of encounters between the two teams in various competitions, as Al Ain had never outperformed Sharjah by such a result before; in fact, Sharjah used to be a tough opponent for Al Ain in the past.
Player Abdel Karim Traore opened the scoring for Al Ain in the 10th minute, then Sharjah player Majid Hassan Al-Ahmadi added the second goal as an own goal in the 15th minute.
Al Ain team continued its absolute control of the match and added the third goal through their defender Eric Meneses in the 51st minute.
Three minutes later, Moroccan star Sofiane Rahimi managed to score the fourth goal for Al Ain with a powerful shot in the 54th minute after a series of wonderful passes.
Rami Rabia concluded the match goals by scoring the fifth at the 63rd minute.
