Raja Athletic qualified for the Round of 16 of the Throne Cup after a deserved 2-0 win against Shabab Al-Massira in the match held yesterday evening at the Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, as part of the round of 32 of the most prestigious cups.
Raja Athletic imposed its style and dominated the gameplay from the start of the encounter, while Shabab Al-Massira relied on a well-organized defensive setup that closed spaces and reduced the effectiveness of Raja’s attacks.
Despite the organized defense, Raja intensified its offensive pressure, and Ismail Khafi succeeded in scoring the opening goal in the injury time of the first half, giving his team a deserved advantage before the break.
In the second half, Shabab Al-Massira tried to come back and increased the pace of its attacks, nearly equalizing in the 62nd minute, but the brilliance of goalkeeper Khalid Al-Alawi prevented the goal.
However, Raja Athletic secured the victory in the 69th minute when defender Mehdi Meshkhashkh took advantage of a defensive lapse inside the penalty area to score the second goal, confirming his team’s superiority and qualification.
With this victory, Raja Athletic guarantees its place in the Round of 16 of the Throne Cup, where it will face Hassania Agadir, who also qualified after winning against Mustang Al-Marsa.
This win reflects Raja’s strong performance and its continuous competition for the Throne Cup title, as the team aims to continue its successful journey.
