The goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team, Yassine Bono, expressed his optimism and hope for his team to achieve a new historic accomplishment during the 2026 World Cup finals.

Bono confirmed that the team’s highest goal currently is to surpass the group stage, praising the positive atmosphere and high morale prevailing in the Lions’ camp under the leadership of coach Mohamed Wahbi.

In a statement to press reports, Yassine Bono extended his thanks and appreciation to the loyal Moroccan fans who come out to support the players, emphasizing their determination to deliver their best performances to make these fans happy and honor Moroccan football.

He pointed out that the players are striving hard to show a performance worthy of the supporters’ aspirations everywhere.

Regarding the team’s preparations inside the camp, Bono explained that the team arrived in good condition and is currently adapting to the time difference, noting that everyone is in excellent health and that the overall atmosphere is one of harmony and understanding, which he considered the most important element before entering the global competition.

The Lions’ goalkeeper stressed that there is a collective dream shared by all players and the technical staff to achieve a major accomplishment, but he reiterated that the primary and direct goal remains to advance through the group stage.

He added that after passing this stage, each match will be considered individually with the aim of reaching the farthest possible point and achieving a historic achievement for Morocco in the 2026 World Cup.

Bono concluded his statements by affirming the players’ awareness of the tremendous fan support, whether from the Moroccan diaspora around the world or the fans who travel specifically to support the team, pointing out that this fan backing represents a great motivation for them to give their best performance and honor their country and large fanbase.
