The “Winners 2005” faction, supporters of Wydad Athletic Club, announced today their decisive stance on the speculations surrounding the election for the presidency of Wydad, affirming that they do not support any candidate in this electoral race.
This came in a statement issued by the faction, revealing a series of moves they have made during the past period aimed at bringing viewpoints closer and preserving the club’s stability and highest interest. These moves included intensive meetings with the concerned parties of the General Assembly before its convening.
“Winners” efforts included meetings with Wydad members to unify visions and goals, followed by meetings with the candidates for the club’s presidency, in the presence of representatives of the members. Each candidate was given the opportunity to present their electoral program and ideas, and to answer the raised inquiries. These meetings concluded with a session with the former president, who is scheduled to formalize his resignation during the upcoming General Assembly.
The faction stressed in its statement the utmost importance of providing an appropriate environment that ensures the success of this electoral entitlement, confirming that the interest of Wydad requires avoiding any obstacles that could affect the normal course of the General Assembly’s activities.
“Winners” called on all members to maintain balance and responsibility, and to stay away from any behavior that could harm the institution’s reputation or hinder the electoral process.
“Winners 2005” also confirmed that it will firmly confront any attempt aimed at violating regulations and laws or obstructing the completion of the General Assembly, warning that such acts would waste critical time during a sensitive period for the club. The faction concluded its statement with a clear call for Wydad members to choose the future president in a way compatible with the best interests of the club, renewing its affirmation of its independent stance and complete rejection of any use of the group’s name for special purposes.
This position of “Winners” reflects its keenness on the club’s interest and the transparency of the electoral process for Wydad’s presidency, emphasizing that its role is oversight and support, not direct interference in members’ choices. This transparent call comes at a critical time when Wydad fans are looking forward to a new president to lead the club towards more achievements and championships.
