The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has issued a final warning to Wydad Athletic Club, granting it a last chance to settle its outstanding debts before it is too late. This measure aims to enable the club to complete registration procedures on the CAF “Club” platform, which is a fundamental requirement to obtain the professional club license and participate in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Press reports revealed that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation also issued similar warnings to Wydad Athletic Club and Renaissance Berkane. These are the only two clubs among five Moroccan teams competing for qualifying spots in continental competitions, facing a transfer ban imposed by the disciplinary committee of FIFA. They must settle their dispute debts to lift this international ban and ensure the continuity of their football activities.
Sources clarified that the federation set June 25 as the final deadline for Wydad Athletic Club to settle all its debts. Meeting this deadline is crucial for the club to complete all the required procedures for registration on the “Club” platform, without which it will not be allowed to participate in the continental championships.
In a related context, CAF set June 30 as the end of the registration period for clubs on the “Club” platform. This platform is the official tool used by CAF to issue licenses required for participation in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. Any club that fails to settle its debts will not be able to register on the platform and, consequently, will be deprived of participation in these prestigious continental competitions.
