French press reports today have uncovered shocking details related to an attempted kidnapping of Kylian Mbappé, the star of Real Madrid and the French national team, as part of a broader criminal plot targeting 26 prominent figures in the country. These reports indicated that the gang, which targeted athletes, rap artists, and businessmen, sought to extract a huge ransom.
Security investigations, as reported in the press, show that the plot was orchestrated from inside the French “Fleury-Mérogis” prison by an 18-year-old named Clément, who used the alias “Lester Z.” This young man, who was serving a previous sentence for armed robbery charges, used the Snapchat application to issue instructions and lead the gang. Addresses of potential victims were found on his confiscated phones.
Among the prominent targets of the kidnapping plot against Kylian Mbappé were sports, artistic, and economic figures, confirming the severity of the gang’s reach and the breadth of their criminal activities. A judicial source stated that the accused “also wanted to attack a rap singer and football player Kylian Mbappé,” highlighting the scale of threats surrounding the French star.
The mastermind behind this gang was uncovered following his involvement in an assault against a watchmaker in April in the area of Neuilly-sur-Seine. This incident enabled investigators to trace his criminal activities and reveal the full list of targets, which included wholesale merchants with fortunes estimated in millions of euros. This development highlights the security efforts made to protect public figures and thwart organized crimes.
