The Moroccan U-17 national team achieved a new victory in the North African Union Championship, defeating their Egyptian counterparts 2-1 in a match played today, Monday, in the Libyan city of Qaminis.

The “Atlas Cubs” entered the match with clear determination, imposing their style from the start and successfully creating several opportunities. Ramy Lokmane then translated this dominance into the first goal in the 24th minute, giving the Moroccan team the advantage.

Shortly before the end of the first half, the Egyptian team managed to equalize through player Adel Alaa, bringing the match back to square one before heading to the locker rooms.

In the second half, the Moroccan team continued to control the flow of play, with repeated attempts to find the net. They eventually scored the winning goal in the final minutes, after a powerful shot from Marwan Bentaleb deflected off Adnan Boujoufi and found its way into the goal.

The match also saw one of the Egyptian players sent off, which complicated their task in the final minutes against continuous Moroccan pressure.

With this victory, the Moroccan national team raised its tally to nine points from three matches, topping the standings. Having previously won their two earlier matches against Tunisia and Algeria, they secured qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations finals for this category and won the tournament title.

The “Cubs” are expected to conclude their participation in the tournament by facing the Libyan team in their upcoming match.
