Today, Morocco-Tétouan faces an eagerly anticipated football challenge against Renaissance Berkane, the runner-up of the last season, as part of the opening round of the professional league “Inwi.” This match is one of three decisive games taking place today, following an exciting league start marked by a surprising defeat for Wydad Athletic at home against the newcomer Widad Temara with a score of three goals to one.
The Morocco-Tétouan match is a true test of the returning team’s capabilities to the top division, having strengthened its squad with a series of new signings aiming for a strong start. Tétouan seeks to confirm its readiness to compete for the higher ranks and avoid relegation struggles, which makes them highly motivated to achieve a positive result against one of the strongest teams in the championship.
At the Sania Ramel Stadium, Morocco-Tétouan hosts the strong guest Renaissance Berkane, who also aims for a strong start in their quest for the title. Concurrently, the sports complex in Fez will witness another encounter between the champion Maghreb de Fès and their guest Renaissance Zemamra, marking the start of their campaign to defend the title they won last season.
The first round matches will conclude today with a local face-off between Kawkab Marrakech and Hassania Agadir at Al-Harithi Stadium. All participating clubs in the league aim to collect as many points as possible at the season’s start, to ease their challenge in competing for the title or to secure their place in the top division and avoid complex relegation calculations in the final stages of the championship.
