The treasury of Wydad Athletic Club’s football team was revitalized today with a massive amount exceeding one billion and 180 million centimes, thanks to the deals of selling contracts of five prominent players. This step aims to strengthen the club’s financial situation and confront the crisis it is experiencing, as revealed by the latest financial report.

The list of departing players included the Brazilian Arthur, who transferred to the Bolivian club Always Ready in a deal worth 450 million centimes. Walid Sbbar also joined the Bahraini club Al-Khalidiya for one hundred million centimes, and Abdelghafour Lamirat moved to Nahdat Berkane for 80 million centimes. The club also benefited from 200 million centimes by terminating Amin Abulfath’s contract, facilitating his move to Libyan club Ahli Benghazi, in addition to the transfer of Tanzanian Suleiman Mwalimu.

Wydad Athletic is striving to diversify its income sources and seek additional financial resources, aiming to overcome the financial crisis which has significantly impacted its stability. The latest financial report indicated that the value of this crisis reaches 11 billion and 440 million centimes, half of which involves legal disputes with final rulings issued by the Professional League and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

These financial moves come as part of the club’s strategy to alleviate financial burdens and ensure the continuity of its operations efficiently amid current challenges. Wydad Athletic hopes these deals will help restore financial balance and provide a stable environment for the team to achieve the best results in upcoming championships.
