Maghreb Fassi team returned with a precious away victory against Ittihad Touarga by one goal to nil, in the match held as part of the 20th round of the first professional league at the City Stadium in Rabat, with an attendance of no more than 1,200 spectators, allowing Maghreb Fassi to snatch both the win and the top position in the standings.
The beginning of the match witnessed caution from both sides, and as the minutes passed, Ittihad Touarga initiated attacks seeking to win and move away from the danger zone. However, the strong defensive organization of “M.A.S.” prevented the ball from reaching the goal behind goalkeeper Salah Eddine Shehab.
In the 16th minute, Maghreb Fassi’s striker Allouch nearly opened the scoring after dribbling past the Touarga defense, but the defense intervened at the right moment and saved the situation from the ball reaching the goal of the young goalkeeper Boulainein.
The Fassi team continued its offensive pressure, and in the 40th minute, the top scorer Bin Jadida passed a decisive ball to his teammate Suleiman Allouch, who shot powerfully, but the alertness of Touarga goalkeeper Boulainein saved his net from a certain goal, ending the first half goalless.
In the second half, Ittihad Touarga’s coach, Maimoun Mokhtari, made two changes by introducing Rakraki in midfield and Bamo in attack, aiming to boost the offensive front. However, the strong defensive organization of Maghreb Fassi succeeded in thwarting the ambitions of Touarga’s players.
On the other hand, Maghreb Fassi relied on quick counter-attacks through the trio Harmach, Allouch, and Bin Jadida, which posed great difficulty for Ittihad Touarga’s defense. In the 68th minute, Maghreb Fassi managed to break the deadlock when player Ohro delivered a wonderful ball from the left side toward Ait Allal, who skillfully placed the ball into Boulainein’s net, scoring the leading goal that ignited the enthusiasm of the Fassi fans who traveled to Rabat to support their team.
This victory returned the sons of the scientific capital to the top of the standings with 41 points, while Ittihad Touarga finds itself seriously threatened with relegation from the top league and must reconsider its strategies after this negative result against Maghreb Fassi.
This win marks an important turning point in Maghreb Fassi’s season, enhancing their chances of competing for the professional league title.
The good performance presented by the team, both defensively and offensively, reflects the hard work of the technical staff and players.
On the other hand, Ittihad Touarga must reassess its situation and seek quick solutions to correct its path and avoid the relegation scenario, especially after the disappointing performance in the match against Maghreb Fassi.
