The national Moroccan coach Jamal Al-Salami received a high-level royal honor from King Abdullah II, the ruler of Jordan, following the unprecedented historic achievement he accomplished by leading the Jordanian national team. This achievement was represented by qualifying for the first time in the history of “Al-Nashama” for the 2026 World Cup finals, marking a milestone in Jordanian football history.
On this exceptional occasion, the Jordanian monarch decorated all members of the national team with the First Class Independence Medal. This royal honor is in recognition of the great levels and outstanding performance the team demonstrated throughout the qualifiers, in addition to their success in achieving the runner-up position in the Arab Cup, reflecting a noticeable development in Al-Nashama’s performance.
The official decoration ceremony was held at Al-Husseiniya Palace, with prominent attendance of the team captain Ihsan Haddad, alongside coach Jamal Al-Salami and all the Jordanian national team players. The festive atmosphere prevailed at this exceptional event, embodying the joy and pride in this unprecedented football achievement that Jamal Al-Salami brought to Jordanian football history.
Jamal Al-Salami succeeded in gaining wide appreciation and recognition within Jordan thanks to this historic achievement, as he managed to lead “Al-Nashama” to the dream of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. This qualification places the Jordanian team before a new challenge and intense preparations to undertake their first global participation, after being drawn into Group J alongside the teams of Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
