The General Assembly of the Professional League, scheduled to be held on Friday, June 5, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, represents a decisive organizational milestone that will witness the discussion of critical files concerning the future of national football.
The officials of the National Professional Football League are preparing to hold two general assemblies, one extraordinary and the other ordinary, aimed at resolving several essential issues.
The extraordinary general assembly, related to the 2024-2025 sports season, will be dedicated to confirming the legal quorum and the League President’s address, in addition to deliberating on amending the statutes of the National Professional Football League.
This step aims to align several regulatory provisions with the requirements of the upcoming phase, which will contribute to improving administrative and organizational performance. As for the ordinary general assembly, related to the 2025-2026 sports season, it will also verify the legal quorum, include the President’s address, and appoint the election examiner and auditors.
The literary and financial reports for the aforementioned two seasons will be presented for discussion, ensuring transparency and accountability.
One of the most prominent items on the agenda is the election of a new president of the Professional League and members of the board of directors, a process that gains great importance amid current discussions about the way the current president, Abdel Salam Belkashour, manages some critical issues such as scheduling, refereeing, and weak communication with stakeholders.
The components of Moroccan football recognize that the upcoming phase requires leadership capable of enhancing communication with clubs and finding practical solutions to organizational and technical constraints, especially with the major challenges awaiting Moroccan football continentally and internationally in the coming years, making the General Assembly of the Professional League a pivotal event.
