Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt has retained the services of its Moroccan star Ashraf Bencharki after receiving a substantial financial offer from a Saudi league club. This decisive decision by the management of the Red Castle aims to keep the player within the squad in preparation for the important and tough competitions awaiting in the new football season.
According to press reports, Al Ahly’s insistence on Ashraf Bencharki was based on a direct recommendation from the team’s head coach, Moroccan Houssin Amouta. Amouta views Bencharki as one of the essential elements indispensable in his tactical plans, thanks to his deep knowledge of the player’s capabilities and outstanding level shown during their time working together at Wydad Athletic Club.
Amouta has shown a strong desire to keep Bencharki with the team, emphasizing his high quality and ability to make a difference in decisive matches. This insistence prompted Al Ahly’s management to reject all offers made for the player during the current summer transfer window, allowing him full focus with the team.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s management has urged Ashraf Bencharki to ignore external offers, whether from Saudi clubs or any other destinations. The player is asked to give full concentration to the upcoming season, as the club heavily relies on his abilities to compete seriously for local and African titles under the leadership of coach Houssin Amouta.
