The Moroccan international star Achraf Hakimi put an end to speculations about his physical readiness by joining today the national team’s group training in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Hakimi’s participation, the team captain and Paris Saint-Germain player, comes as part of preparations for the crucial match against Lesotho in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
There were doubts about Hakimi’s possible absence from this important match due to a minor muscle injury he sustained with his French club. This injury forced him to undergo individual training recently, causing concern among Moroccan fans about his participation with the Atlas Lions.
However, the right-back of the Moroccan team showed full readiness during the training session held at Ramaphosa Stadium. He actively participated in all the group exercises and tactical aspects supervised by national coach Mohamed Wahbi, confirming his full recovery and his technical and physical preparedness.
There is no doubt that Achraf Hakimi’s return and full engagement in training represent a significant moral and technical boost for the national team. Thanks to his leadership position and vast experience in international arenas, Hakimi is a qualitative addition to coach Mohamed Wahbi’s plans and enhances the Lions’ chances of achieving a positive result against Lesotho, and thus qualifying for CAN 2027.
