Five million euros constitute the main obstacle to completing the transfer deal of the Morocco national team star, Sofyan Amrabat, to the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, as the latter seeks to strengthen its ranks during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Reports reveal that negotiations between “Al-Ittihad” and the Turkish club Fenerbahçe have reached a critical point, with the Turkish club insisting on obtaining a net amount of 20 million euros to agree to sell the player.
For its part, Al-Ittihad has submitted an official offer worth 15 million euros, in addition to a number of incentives and bonuses conditional on the player’s performance, in an attempt to persuade Fenerbahçe to release the Moroccan international’s services.
This interest in Sofyan Amrabat comes upon a direct request from the German head coach Jens Vissing, who sees him as the ideal replacement to compensate for the departure of the Brazilian Fabinho and seeks to strengthen the team’s midfield with an experienced foreign defensive midfielder.
Ongoing negotiations between the two clubs indicate Al-Ittihad’s insistence on signing Amrabat, who is a primary target for several European and global clubs due to his technical abilities and extensive experience.
The Moroccan player has an impressive record, having previously worn the shirts of prestigious clubs such as Fiorentina and Manchester United, in addition to being a key pillar in the ranks of Fenerbahçe and the Morocco national team in major tournaments.
Despite the clear financial gap, there is optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties.
Al-Ittihad’s officials hope to finalize this deal to ensure strong reinforcement for the midfield before the start of the new season, emphasizing that Sofyan Amrabat represents a qualitative addition to the team thanks to his extensive experience at both European and international levels.
