Abdulaziz Al-Malik, president of the Saudi club Al-Shabab, today settled the ongoing debate about the future of the Moroccan striker Abdelrazak Hamdallah with Al-Shabab, officially announcing the termination of the relationship between the two parties at the end of the current season, considering that the “club environment” at this stage no longer allows for his continuation.
Al-Malik explained, in televised statements to the program “Action with Walid,” that the decision to release “Al-Sati” came as part of a comprehensive evaluation process and fundamental changes witnessing “the Lions,” confirming at the same time the club’s appreciation for the player’s history and achievements as one of the top scorers in the history of the Saudi League, but his journey with the team has reached its end.
The Al-Shabab president did not address details of the internal disputes, especially after reports spoke of repeated clashes between Hamdallah and the team captain, the Belgian Yannick Carrasco, indicating that what happened remains an internal matter between the management and the player.
These developments come after a season marked by escalating tensions between the two stars, starting with disagreements over the execution of penalty kicks and set pieces, which culminated in the recent match against Al-Taawoun that witnessed a public quarrel between them, followed by heated events in the locker room after the five-goal defeat, prompting the management to exclude the Moroccan striker from group training before announcing the final departure decision.
Abdelrazak Hamdallah’s departure from Al-Shabab is an offensive loss for the team but may open the door for new signings that strengthen the team’s stability in the coming seasons. This decision ends a prolific scoring journey with “the Lions” and places Hamdallah before new challenges in his football career.
