The “Women, Achievements, and Values” Association, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and glorify him, will organize the 16th edition of the “Victory Race for Women” next Sunday, April 26, in Rabat.
Ms. Nezha Bidouane, President of the Organizing Committee, stated that the committee looks forward to “organizing an exceptional edition befitting the history of this esteemed race, and contributing to enhancing its national and international prominence, through broad participation and meticulous organization that reflects professionalism and excellence.”
She added in this context, “As we work to develop this sporting event, we recall the lofty directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, contained in the Royal Message addressed to the National Sports Conference in Skhirat in 2008, in which His Majesty emphasized that sports are a fundamental lever for human development and an effective tool for social integration,” stressing, may God protect him, “the importance of embedding a culture of regular sports practice and encouraging initiatives that would expand the base of practitioners.” This serves as a source of inspiration for us in organizing the Women’s Victory Race, considering it a space that embodies this insightful royal vision.
The race, organized under the slogan “Run as much as you can,” which has become classified among the major women’s sports events globally, will start at 10:00 AM in front of the entrance to the Jardin d’Essais – Bab Tamesna – Avenue An-Nasr – Rabat.
Participants, from various social strata and age groups, will cover a distance of 7 km, passing through Bab Rouah, Moulay El Hassan Avenue, then African Unity Square, then Al Jaza’ir Avenue, then Abraham Lincoln Square, and Ahmed El Yazidi Avenue, then Roosevelt Square, then Chellah Avenue, then Bab Zaer, Moulay Youssef High School, then Bab Rouah, returning to the starting point.
The organizing committee began its work several weeks ago to ensure all means of success for the 16th edition, thanks to the concerted efforts of all the association’s partners, foremost among them the services of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region’s wilaya, supporting bodies and institutions, the Royal Armed Forces Sports Center, the Education and Training Academy of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, and dozens of male and female volunteers from Rabat and beyond.
Like previous editions, the 16th edition will witness extensive female participation from various social strata and age groups, and from educational and vocational training institutions, sports associations, civil society associations, and the National Mutual Aid Foundation, as well as from the National Security forces and the Royal Armed Forces. In addition, there will be special and distinguished participation from associations of the Moroccan Special Olympics, the Princess Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and foreign residents in Morocco, particularly from sub-Saharan Africa.
By involving all these female components, the “Women, Achievements, and Values” Association, since its inception in 2005, has worked to utilize sports as a means of social advancement and a tool for motivation and spreading sports culture, in addition to working to instill noble social and educational principles and values and the spirit of citizenship. Thus, its activities touch upon sports, social, educational, and humanitarian fields.
