The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the appointment of Samson Adamu as interim General Secretary, succeeding the Congolese official Veron Mosengo-Omba.
This appointment comes as part of preparations for the transitional period leading up to the next General Assembly of the continental federation.
Adamu, a Nigerian national, will manage CAF’s affairs and oversee its administrative and organizational files during this critical phase, ensuring the continuity of daily operations for the continental body without interruption.
Adamu is known for his distinguished family background in football administration, as his father, Amos Adamu, was a former member of the FIFA Executive Committee, which enhances his experience and deep understanding of football at both continental and international levels.
The interim General Secretary is expected to focus on stabilizing the CAF structure and ensuring the efficient organization of current and future competitions, while maintaining transparency and applying best administrative standards during the transitional period.
