Olympic Safi bid farewell to the African Confederation Cup at the semi-final stage after drawing 1-1 with their guest USM Alger in the second leg, a result that did not serve their ambitions of reaching the final.
The first half saw the Algerian team take the lead when Ahmed El Khaldi scored the opening goal in stoppage time (45+4) from a penalty kick, putting the home side under significant pressure.
In the second half, the Safi team showed a positive reaction and managed to equalize in the 75th minute through Moussa Kone with a well-placed header. However, this goal was not enough to overturn the qualification balance.
The first leg, played in Algeria, had ended goalless, which gave USM Alger the advantage due to their away goal, securing their ticket to the final.
The Algerian team will face Egyptian club Zamalek in the final, who also reached this stage after overcoming CR Belouizdad.
