Hours before the highly anticipated match, the official lineups for both Wydad and Raja teams were revealed for the Wydad-Raja derby, which will bring together the two Casablanca football giants today as part of the 20th round of the professional league competition.
The two coaches announced the names they will rely on in this crucial showdown, which is expected to be highly competitive despite the absence of spectators.
On the side of Wydad, Mohamed Benchrifa revealed the starting lineup that will face Raja, choosing a select group of players to represent the red team in this derby.
The lineup includes Bennabeid as goalkeeper, Mosedaq, Abouelfath, Mofid, and Boushta in defense, while Bakaso, Pierre, and Vaka are tasked with the midfield, leading the attack are Ziyash, Rayhi, and Al-Hanouri.
This derby represents a significant challenge for both teams, as each seeks to secure victory and earn the three points to improve their position on the league table.
On his part, South African David Waddle, coach of the “Green Eagles,” settled on the names that will contest the Wydad-Raja football derby in Raja’s lineup.
Raja’s lineup consists of Harrar in goal, a defense line including Mouqaddam, Khafifi, Bannoun, and Al-Amoud, while the midfield duties are handled by Mkaazi, Fardousi, and Bougrine, with the attack led by Barqouq, Sharara, and Matias.
The eagerly awaited match will take place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca without the presence of fans, due to the punishment imposed on Raja SC, known as the “Weclo” sanction.
These circumstances add another challenge to the match, as the pressure usually exerted by the fans which typically characterizes such big encounters will be absent.
