Sudan’s Al-Hilal club expressed its great dissatisfaction with the participation of Renaissance Berkane player Hamza El Moussaoui in the match between the two teams in the African Champions League, indicating the existence of information related to his use of a prohibited substance.
The club clarified, in an official statement via its media platforms, that the player underwent a doping test, and the results showed the presence of a prohibited substance. It added that he was officially notified of the matter before he waived his right to have a second sample analyzed, without providing any medical justifications for doing so.
The source added that the player was subjected to a temporary suspension lasting 30 days, before it was suddenly lifted, which allowed him to participate in Al-Hilal’s matches. Al-Hilal considered this decision a violation of the principle of equal opportunities.
Al-Hilal indicated that it initiated an official protest before the two matches were played, notifying the competent authorities according to the established procedures. It affirmed that the player’s participation had a clear impact on the course of the match, especially in one crucial moment.
In conclusion of its statement, the club stressed its determination to continue defending its rights through legal channels, calling for the necessity of respecting laws and ensuring the integrity of football competitions.
