Ángel Haro, president of the Spanish club Real Betis, settled the controversy surrounding Zlazouli’s future, affirming the club’s commitment to the Moroccan star.
This came during statements in which he revealed the latest developments related to the status of the two Moroccan international players, Abdel Samad Zlazouli and Sofyan Amrabat, shedding light on the club’s plans for the forthcoming football season.
Haro expressed the strong desire of Betis management to keep Zlazouli as part of the team for the next season, praising the noticeable improvement in his performance, especially after the injury period that kept him away from participating with his national team in the 2026 World Cup finals.
The Andalusian club president explained that Zlazouli has undergone an intensive rehabilitation program since his injury, highlighting the player’s professionalism in handling this phase. He is expected to join group training during the second week of the preparation period for the new season.
Regarding Zlazouli’s future and the possibility of his departure during the summer transfer window, Haro affirmed the club’s attachment to him but did not rule out considering any appropriate offers, stressing that it cannot be said any player is unsellable in modern football.
In a related context, the Real Betis president touched on the status of Sofyan Amrabat, who spent last season with the team on loan. Haro pointed out that there have been no new developments regarding Amrabat’s file so far.
He attributed this delay to the 2026 World Cup finals, which led to postponements in many player negotiations.
Haro confirmed that Amrabat did not want to discuss his future before the conclusion of the tournament. He also pointed out the player’s commitment to an important contract with his Turkish club, complicating the finalization of the deal and making its outcome dependent on Real Betis’s midfield situation during the summer transfer period.
