Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, on Wednesday set a date to resume his meeting with the professional league coaches, after it was unable to be completed last week.
Media reports indicate that the agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several vital points, the most prominent being the training file within clubs, in addition to the proposal to increase the number of teams in the first division, which some coaches had previously presented during the last meeting. This directive reflects a desire to develop the football base and expand the competition circle.
This meeting is expected to be a good opportunity to deeply analyze the reality of football practice in Morocco, in a serious attempt to find practical solutions to many problems facing the football system. The meeting will include listening to a detailed report from the Professional League, addressing challenges related to refereeing, disputes, club protests, as well as the weak level of training, which are key issues requiring swift and effective treatment.
During Fouzi Lekjaa’s meeting, a decision will also be made regarding the grants to be allocated to clubs by the end of the next sports season, especially after the Professional League decided to retract the allocation of financial grants to the clubs occupying the top ten positions in the league. This decision adds a new dimension to the discussion about financial incentives and support mechanisms for clubs.
It is worth noting that Lekjaa had met with the professional league coaches last week but had to leave the meeting abruptly due to an emergency phone call, which necessitated scheduling a new date to continue the important discussions concerning the future of Moroccan football.
