Mohamed Wahbi, coach of the Moroccan national team, announced today that the technical staff relies on hybrid and advanced playing methods aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Moroccan team’s performance in various upcoming competitions.
Wahbi confirmed that this philosophy allows the team to control the course of matches, even during times when they do not have possession of the ball, highlighting the importance of tactical flexibility.
In an exclusive interview with Al Riyadiya channel, Wahbi explained that the tactical approach changes depending on the type of competition, whether it is the U-20 World Cup, Africa Cup, North Africa Cup, or the final preparations for the World Cup with the “Atlas Lions.”
The coach stressed that the players’ role is central in applying these tactical ideas on the field, and that harmony between the veteran and new players is the foundation of success.
The national coach added that the team is currently undergoing a phase of renewal and comprehensive evaluation, despite the limited time available, focusing on developing the overall team performance without resorting to complex tactical instructions that could limit the players’ freedom and creativity.
This approach aims to achieve maximum effectiveness during the World Cup finals, and Mohamed Wahbi promises the Moroccan team will deliver distinctive competitive levels.
Wahbi praised the high morale and harmony shown by the young players during the recent training camp, confirming their successful integration with experienced players and the provision of the best conditions to facilitate their blending within the group.
He also spoke about monitoring some talents such as Jassim, Al-Murabit, and Halhal, as part of his plan to gradually build the Moroccan national team to be a strong team capable of competing at the highest global levels.
