In a statement highlighting the great ambition prevailing at Mamelodi Sundowns club, team player Aubrey Modiba confirmed that the ultimate goal this season is to win the CAF Champions League title to ensure their anticipated participation in the 2029 Club World Cup.

This statement comes at a critical time, as the team prepares for the return leg in the tournament final.

Modiba explained in press statements that the valuable away win by one goal to nil gives his team a relative advantage, emphasizing the importance of keeping a clean sheet in the return match.

He added: “We hope to exploit this advantage for our benefit. We must fully focus on defense and prevent the opponent from scoring, and perhaps we can settle the match in our favor by achieving another victory.”

This statement reflects the fighting spirit and the strong desire to achieve a historic achievement for the South African club and please its loyal fans.

The player continued talking about last season: “We tried to qualify for the Club World Cup as African champions last season, but that did not happen at that time. Now, we strongly desire to win the CAF Champions League title to qualify for the 2029 Club World Cup.”

The highly anticipated return leg between Mamelodi Sundowns and the Royal Army will be held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat next Sunday at 8 PM, in a match that promises a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.
