Moroccan star Noussair Mazraoui confirmed that preparations for Morocco’s participation in the upcoming World Cup are progressing well, emphasizing the importance of the recent victory over Madagascar as a strong motivator before the start of the 2026 World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Mazraoui pointed out the necessity of uniting efforts with the new technical staff and the newly joined players to deliver a performance that reflects the fans’ aspirations after the historic achievement in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Commenting on the anticipated opening match, Mazraoui stressed that the match against Brazil will not be easy at all, which requires exerting maximum effort and fully adhering to the coach’s technical instructions.

The national team player explained that achieving a positive result in the first match will give the team a significant morale boost in their journey towards achieving the desired goals in the global tournament.

In a related context, the national team played a friendly match against Madagascar yesterday, Tuesday, at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, where they won a deserved 4-0 victory, reflecting the readiness and brilliance of the front lines before heading to the American continent.

The match showed clear offensive strength, which raises optimism about Morocco’s performance in the World Cup.

The Moroccan national team delegation departs today, Wednesday, heading to the United States to participate in the World Cup. Before the official competitions begin, the “Atlas Lions” are scheduled to face Norway in a friendly match next Sunday as part of the final preparations before their first official appearance in the 2026 World Cup.
