Four clubs from the Moroccan professional league directly benefit from the Moroccan national football team’s qualification to the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This benefit comes as a result of the continuous presence of players from these clubs within the ranks of the Moroccan elite team qualified for the global tournament, which increases their financial value.
Raja Club Athletic, AS FAR, Renaissance Berkane, and Maghreb Tetouan are set to receive increasing financial amounts from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) following this achievement.
This is due to FIFA’s financial compensation system offered to clubs whose players participate in the World Cup, with an allocation of 11,000 dollars for each day a player is present.
According to press reports, Raja Club Athletic secured 12.5 million centimes thanks to the participation of its player Mohamed Sharara with the Jordanian national team in the World Cup, noting that the minimum amount set by FIFA for clubs is 25 million centimes, and Raja will share this grant with Jordan’s Al-Hussein Irbid club.
The same applies to player Youssef Belammari, whose grant Raja will share with Egypt’s Al Ahly SC.
Similarly, AS FAR will share the financial grant with Maghreb Tetouan, based on the participation of player Reda Tagnaouti, who has played for both teams in the last two seasons.
Additionally, Renaissance Berkane will receive a significant grant thanks to goalkeeper Munir El Mohammedi’s participation with the Moroccan national team in this global event, highlighting the financial importance of Morocco’s qualification for local clubs.
