The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has officially approved the continuation of Moroccan professional league matches during the World Cup period. This decision allows Moroccan clubs to continue their domestic competitions without interruption, benefiting from the fact that the timing of international matches does not conflict with the domestic league schedule.
This approval comes in response to the desire of the Professional Football League, which aims to complete the second half of the championship during the World Cup.
This arrangement aims to conclude the football season by the end of next June, which will allow for the timely identification of clubs qualifying for continental competitions such as the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Board of Directors of the National Professional Football League had set June 27 as the final date for the conclusion of this season’s professional league competitions, relying on FIFA’s recent decision to ensure adherence to this deadline.
