Today, Wydad Athletic Club is seriously moving towards reclaiming its former striker, South African Cassius Mailola, as part of the management’s plan to strengthen the team during the current summer transfer period.
This interest follows his recent unsuccessful experience in the Belgian league and the positive impact the player left during his previous stint with the Red club in the season before last.
Wydad’s management currently places the file of Cassius Mailola’s return in the hands of Portuguese coach Paulo Sérgio to assess the player’s suitability for the tactical approach and coaching philosophy the coach seeks to implement.
The coach’s assessment will be decisive in making the final decision regarding the completion of the deal, to ensure that the player is a real addition to the team that aligns with its future ambitions.
Wydad is striving hard to bolster its squad with strong names, having succeeded in signing Ayman Al-Hassouni, Hamza Jnanallah, and goalkeeper Rachid Ghanimi in this summer’s mercato.
Intensive negotiations are underway to finalize contracts with Yahya Jibran and Yahya Atiyah Allah to further strengthen the team’s ranks.
On the other hand, the Red fortress witnessed the departure of several players after their contracts ended, including notably Abdelali Al-Mohammedi, Ayoub Boutcheta, Mohamed Al-Rahehi, Wissam Benidir, and Nooraldin Al-Morabet.
