The Spanish national team continued its strong performance in the 2026 World Cup finals after securing a 2-0 victory over the French team in the semifinal held in the United States of America.
The Spanish team dominated the match, successfully opening the scoring in the 22nd minute through Mikel Oyarzabal, who converted a penalty kick into a goal that gave “La Roja” the lead before the end of the first half.
At the start of the second half, the Spaniards maintained control of the game’s pace, before Pedro Poro extended the lead by scoring the second goal in the 58th minute, making it difficult for the French team to get back into the match.
With this victory, the Spanish team continued its superiority over France in recent knockout encounters, having previously eliminated “Les Bleus” in the semifinal of the 2024 European Championship and the semifinal of the 2025 UEFA Nations League.
The Spanish team has secured a spot in the World Cup final, where it awaits to find out its opponent, who will be determined after the semifinal match between Argentina and England.
