Moroccan star Ismail Saibari was crowned the best player in the Dutch Eredivisie for the 2025/2026 season, an achievement reflecting his exceptional level and significant impact with his team PSV Eindhoven.
This accolade was awarded during the prestigious Eredivisie Awards ceremony, based on votes from the leaders of the eighteen clubs participating in the competition.
Saibari, with his impressive performance, outshone a distinguished group of outstanding players who were candidates for the award, such as Tijaron Sherry, Mika Gudts, and Jakob Trenskoff, as well as his teammate Joey Veerman.
The Moroccan star received the majority of votes thanks to his decisive contributions and outstanding statistics that placed him at the forefront of the Dutch football scene this season.
Ismail Saibari also delivered an exceptional season by all standards, contributing 23 goals in 27 league matches. He scored 15 goals and provided 8 assists, becoming the most influential midfielder in terms of offensive contributions.
Saibari stood out in major matches, scoring 5 goals and assisting 3 times against top competing teams, which helped his team secure the league title for the third consecutive time.
Saibari’s crowning represents a special achievement for PSV Eindhoven, as he is the second player from the club to win this award after Luuk de Jong.
