Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan confirmed today his explicit desire to retire wearing the Nerazzurri jersey, rejecting the idea of moving to the Spanish club Barcelona. This puts an end to reports linking him with the Catalan club, completely removing him from Barcelona’s plans to strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer market.

Martinez explained that his decision stems from his family’s stability and great happiness in Italy, pointing out that his children attend school and have friends, and that his family owns their own restaurant in the city. He emphasized the strong bond he has with the club and the city, saying: “Without a doubt, I would like that, as my family and I feel happy here, we have our own restaurant, and our children attend school and have friends. It is hard for me to imagine myself anywhere else. Although no one knows what may happen in the future, I will stay here unless they kick me out.”

In the same context, Giuseppe Marotta, the president of Inter Milan, denied all the circulating news regarding the departure of his captain Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan, confirming that there “is no truth to the rumors about Lautaro’s transfer to Barcelona.” This confirmation puts an end to any attempts to sign the player, while Barcelona faces economic challenges and increasing pressure to find a replacement for striker Robert Lewandowski, who left a gap in the Spanish team’s attack after his recent departure.
