The Moroccan striker Abdulrazak Hamdallah received a severe punishment from the management of the Saudi club Al-Shabab, following a new crisis that the team recently witnessed, which may lead to his exclusion from the upcoming match against Al-Nassr and possibly ending his career with the club.
This punishment comes after a heated dispute erupted between Hamdallah and his Belgian teammate Yannick Carrasco during the match against Al-Taawoun in the Saudi league, which ended in a heavy defeat for Al-Shabab with a score of 1-5.
Media personality Khalid Al-Shenef revealed the details of the crisis on his program “Dourina Ghair,” which started over a direct free kick in the last minutes of the match.
While Carrasco was preparing to take the free kick, Abdulrazak Hamdallah rushed in, took the ball, and then gave it to his teammate Josh Braunhoel, to everyone’s surprise. The disagreement between the players escalated on the field and continued into the locker room after the match ended, leading to Hamdallah’s absence from the team training yesterday amid speculation about his future with the club.
Following these rapid events, the Al-Shabab management, according to the Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadiyah,” decided to punish Abdulrazak Hamdallah by excluding him from the anticipated match against Al-Nassr, in addition to suspending him from group training for seven days.
This step aims to enforce discipline within the team ranks, especially since the relationship between Hamdallah and Carrasco has experienced several tensions since the beginning of the season.
In a notable reaction, Hamdallah posted a Quranic verse on his account on the “X” platform: “And they plan, and Allah plans, and Allah is the best of planners,” which some interpreted as expressing his dissatisfaction with the decision and its implications that might lead to him not continuing until the end of the season.
