Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bono, star of Saudi Al Hilal, sent an emotional support message to the fans of his former team Sevilla FC, three years after leaving the club.
Bono’s message comes amid the difficult situation Sevilla is facing this season in the Spanish league, as the team is nearing the relegation zone.
In statements to the Spanish website “ABC,” quoted by the Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadiyah,” Bono expressed great confidence in Sevilla’s ability to overcome this tough phase.
He pointed to the enthusiastic atmosphere created by the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, describing it as a “great roar” when it “ignites” with fan support, affirming that the players understand the importance of the situation and will respond strongly in their upcoming match against Real Sociedad.
Bono recalled previous Sevilla matches against giant teams like Manchester United and Juventus, where he could see fear in the opponents’ eyes thanks to the immense motivation provided by the fans.
He expressed hope that the fans will have the same impact in the match next Monday (May 6, 2026). Sevilla will host Real Sociedad at their stadium in the 34th round of La Liga.
Notably, the Andalusian team currently occupies the eighteenth position in the Spanish league standings, the first relegation spot, just two points behind Deportivo Alavés in seventeenth place, with five rounds remaining in the competition. Bono relies on the team’s spirit and fan support to avoid relegation and stay in the spotlight league.
