The Moroccan national team secured an important 2-1 victory over Paraguay in a friendly match held on Tuesday evening in Lens, France, as part of preparations for the upcoming phase.
The national team entered the match with clear attacking intentions, attempting from the outset to impose its rhythm and seek a way to the opponent’s goal. However, initial attempts lacked the necessary effectiveness despite good movements in the final third of the field.
In response, the Paraguayan team countered with attacks that almost resulted in goals, but goalkeeper Yassine Bounou shined on more than one occasion, maintaining the cohesion of the Moroccan defense throughout the first half.
At the start of the second half, the “Atlas Lions” managed to decipher the Paraguayan defense when Bilal El Khannouss scored the opening goal in the 48th minute, before Naïl El Aïnaoui doubled the lead just five minutes later, capitalizing on precise passes that made the difference.
Despite Paraguay’s attempts to come back into the game, the Moroccan defense remained resolute until the final minutes, when Gustavo Caballero managed to score a goal to narrow the deficit, leading to the Moroccan national team’s victory.
This win comes as part of the national team’s preparatory program, which aims to enhance its readiness and improve its performance, especially after the draw in the previous friendly match against Ecuador.
