The Wydad Athletic Club football training sessions for the new football season started today, witnessing the participation of 30 players under the supervision of the technical staff. This launch comes amid the club’s aspirations to turn the page on last season, which was disappointing and saw a significant decline in performance and results.
The list of players participating in Wydad’s training included several prominent names, such as Hakim Ziyech, Yahya Jebran, and Ayman Hassouni, in addition to a group of young and newly arrived players. This diverse presence reflects the club’s desire to build a strong and cohesive team capable of competing powerfully for local and continental titles in the upcoming season.
The training was also attended by Mehdi Benabid, Omar Aqzdaw, Rashid Ghanimi, Wadia Belhirsh, Abderrazak Alwadi, Salah Eddin Mosaddak, Ayman Al-Wafi, Yahya Atiyallah, Hamza Jnanallah, the Malian Sambo, Ayman Qashoush, Mohammed Mufid, Walid Atig, Ibrahim Al-Ghafouri, Naeem Biyar, Joseph Bakasso, Ryan Mahto, Osama Al-Zamrawi, Walid Nasi, Maad Onzo, Shams Eddin Alalali, Hamza Al-Hanouri, Salman Al-Rihani, Mohammed Mounsef, Al-Hussein Al-Shammari, Hamza Al-Wasti, and Idris Al-Mahdawi.
Tanzanian Suleiman Mwalimu is expected to join the team’s training tomorrow, Thursday, after the delay in finalizing his transfer to Simba SC of Tanzania. The same applies to player Vaka, whose transfer procedures to the Saudi league have not been completed. Wydad hopes to overcome previous failures, having finished last season in fifth place in the professional league, behind Maghreb Fassi, Renaissance Berkane, Raja Casablanca, and the Royal Army, recording 13 losses, seven of which occurred in the last eight rounds, marking the worst season for the club in recent years.
