The official website of Manchester United announced today that Noussair Mazraoui has largely overcome concerns about his injury and is now ready to participate in Morocco’s opening match against Brazil in the 2026 World Cup.

Mazraoui’s injury had worried fans after he awkwardly fell on his shoulder during a friendly match against Norway, but his return to group training following a special rehabilitation program brings reassurance.

On the other hand, the news was not good for Mazraoui’s teammates in the national team, Nayef Akard and Abdel Samad Al-Zalzouli, as they were excluded from Morocco’s final squad for the World Cup and replaced by Marwan Saadan and Amin Al-Sebaei.

Akard suffered from the consequences of a previous injury, while Al-Zalzouli sustained a ligament sprain in his knee during the friendly match against Norway, which ruled them out from participating in the global event.

Mazraoui’s return is a strong morale boost for Morocco as they prepare to face a powerful Brazil team, which will feature a special showdown between Mazraoui and Samba stars Casemiro and Matheus Cunha.

The “Atlas Lions,” led by coach Mohammed Wahbi, aim to achieve positive results and advance beyond the group stage in a group that also includes Scotland and Haiti, continuing the achievements made in recent years.
