Raja Athletic Club has begun the search for a new sporting director to succeed the Frenchman Sébastien Soumakal, whose contract with the club is set to end at the conclusion of the current sports season.
This decision comes only 11 months after signing him, due to the management’s dissatisfaction with his technical impact and the absence of a clear mark within the club’s sporting project, in addition to his failure to properly restructure the team’s technical management.
The Raja management is currently negotiating with several European professionals specialized in sports management, aiming to finalize the identity of the new sporting director for the green team before the end of June.
This step comes in response to the continuous criticism directed by Raja fans at the current sporting director, along with increasing demands for a radical change at the head of the technical management that aligns with the club’s ambitions and philosophy.
Although the name of former international Karim El Ahmadi has been strongly circulated within the club as a potential candidate for the sporting director position, the Raja management prefers to lean towards the European school to benefit from its extensive expertise in this field.
This preference is part of the club’s effort to ensure the selection of the most suitable person capable of leading the sports management and achieving the desired goals for the upcoming season.
The club hopes to appoint a new sporting director who can provide tangible technical and administrative contributions and help drive the team’s progress forward, away from the performance shown by the Frenchman Sébastien Soumakal.
Raja fans eagerly anticipate this move, hoping the club will return to its correct path and regain its usual brilliance on both the local and continental levels.
