Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, player for Paris Saint-Germain, confirmed that the national team aims to surpass the achievement of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, noting that the team has great ambition to continue developing and competing with the strongest teams, with the goal of reaching advanced stages in the 2026 World Cup.
Achraf Hakimi gave an extensive interview to the French magazine “Onze Mondial,” during which he discussed the readiness of the Moroccan national team to participate in the World Cup and to present a strong version, saying: “The World Cup comes this summer and we will face it with full strength.
The team has great confidence, and we are preparing to deliver a great tournament, just as we did in 2022 in Qatar.”
Hakimi added: “Why not be better than what we showed in Qatar and go as far as possible? That is our goal. We will see how things develop, but I can assure you that we are ready to achieve great things in this tournament.”
He continued: “Our limits depend only on us. We set our own ceiling, and thanks to our performance on the pitch and what we deliver in major tournaments, Morocco is growing and competing with big teams. Today, I do not know where our ceiling is, and that makes it exciting. The new generation is coming to the national team carrying a great desire to achieve achievements, and thanks to them we continue to surpass our limits.”
The Moroccan star concluded his statements by affirming that “the national team is full of ambition. We want to achieve great accomplishments every year to stay at the highest level. Our goal is clear: to make history in football.”
It is noted that the Moroccan national team is in Group C of the 2026 World Cup, alongside Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland, and everyone is looking forward to seeing the brilliance of Achraf Hakimi and the Moroccan team in this global competition.
