National coach Rachid Taoussi has declined the offer to take on the role of coaching the Liberia national football team, despite intensive negotiations he held in recent days with the Liberian Football Association.
This decision is somewhat surprising, especially since Taoussi has extensive coaching experience at both the African and Moroccan levels.
According to available information, Rachid Taoussi preferred not to undertake this new experience due to personal commitments within Morocco, in addition to the current circumstances that did not allow him to accept the Liberian offer.
This apology comes after a period during which the coach worked in Africa, raising questions about the nature of these commitments that prevented him from finalizing the deal.
Taoussi is one of the well-known coaching figures in Moroccan football, having previously managed several major national clubs, including Raja Casablanca, FAR Rabat, and Maghreb de Fès.
He also coached the Moroccan national team between 2012 and 2013, in addition to undertaking other coaching experiences abroad on the African continent.
The Liberian Football Association was seeking to contract an experienced African coach to bring the Liberia national team back to the continental spotlight and aim for qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations finals, from which they have been absent since the 2002 edition.
