The African Football Confederation (CAF) approved the request of the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns to postpone the first leg of the Africa Champions League final against Al-Jaish Al-Malaki. The match will be held next Sunday, May 4, at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.
This decision came after intense pressure from the Sundowns management, which refused to play the match on Friday, May 2, as it is a working day and not an official holiday in South Africa. The match will take place at 2 PM Moroccan time, which is 3 PM South African time.
The Al-Jaish Al-Malaki team is expected to face difficult and hot weather conditions, as Sundowns usually exploit this factor when hosting North African clubs. The second leg will be held on Sunday, May 25, at Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, at 8 PM.
