The Royal Army team succeeded in reaching the final of the Africa Champions League, despite losing the return match against Renaissance of Berkane by one goal to nil, benefiting from their overall superiority in the two encounters with a score of (2-1).
The events of the first half were marked by great caution from both sides, as the tactical aspect dominated the performance of the two teams, with the absence of dangerous attacking attempts, ending the first half goalless.
At the beginning of the second half, Renaissance of Berkane managed to score through Yassine Bahiri in the 57th minute from a penalty kick, igniting the atmosphere of the match and reviving hope for his team.
The Berkane team pressed during the remaining minutes in search of a second goal to overturn the situation, but the solidity of the Royal Army’s defense and the brilliance of goalkeeper Reda Tahennouti prevented that, allowing the military team to maintain their lead in the aggregate score.
The first leg had ended in favor of the Royal Army with two goals to none on the field of Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, which enabled them to secure the qualification ticket to the final.
