Moroccan coach Tarik Sektioui expressed his great satisfaction at taking over the leadership of the Oman national team, emphasizing his desire to launch a comprehensive football project that balances achieving positive results in the present with laying the foundations for sustainable development for the future.
During the press conference held in Muscat to officially introduce him, Sektioui affirmed that he received a warm welcome since his arrival, considering that this reception reflects the magnitude of the responsibility placed on his shoulders and motivates him to work diligently to elevate the level of the Omani national team.
The coach explained that among his goals is to leverage the experience gained by Moroccan football in recent years, especially in terms of training and grassroots development, while striving to gradually apply this approach within the Omani football system.
He noted that the current phase requires significant effort, particularly regarding the restructuring of the squad and introducing new elements, with a focus on preparing a physically and tactically integrated team capable of competing in various competitions.
Speaking about the limited offensive effectiveness, Sektioui highlighted that this issue is not limited to the attacking line only but requires improving collective performance by achieving a better balance between the lines and developing player positioning on the field.
He also stressed the importance of giving special attention to youth categories through developing training programs and honing talents, considering that investing in emerging generations represents the cornerstone for building a strong national team in the future.
He concluded his statements by emphasizing the importance of joint work with various stakeholders in Omani football, with the aim of establishing a long-term project that ensures continuity and raises the level of competitiveness at both regional and international levels.
