Al-Ittihad Secures Moroccan Striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahçe
Al-Ittihad Football Club officially announced on its social media platforms the signing of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Turkish club Fenerbahçe. The club did not disclose the financial terms of the deal or the duration of the contract.
The Saudi club unveiled the acquisition through a special video presentation, extending a welcome to the Moroccan international. En-Nesyri is expected to significantly bolster the team’s attacking capabilities for the remainder of the season, particularly following changes to the frontline after the departure of star French forward Karim Benzema.
According to consistent media reports, En-Nesyri’s transfer was not initially straightforward. The player reportedly had to mutually terminate his contract with Fenerbahçe to facilitate his move to Al-Ittihad after administrative hurdles prevented the completion of procedures in the final hours of the winter transfer window.
Fenerbahçe had previously issued a statement holding Al-Ittihad’s management responsible for the failure of the deal within the legal timeframe, citing non-compliance with certain regulatory procedures. However, subsequent reports indicated that a legal agreement was reached, resolving the dispute and paving the way for the official registration of the player.
Through this acquisition, Al-Ittihad is banking on Youssef En-Nesyri’s extensive experience on both European and international stages, aiming to enhance its offensive prowess and compete strongly in upcoming domestic and continental competitions.
