CAF Investigates Unacceptable Conduct During AFCON 2025 Qualifiers

Casablanca, Morocco – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched a formal investigation into allegations of unacceptable behavior by several players and officials during the quarter-final matches of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) “Morocco 2025” qualifiers. The inquiry specifically focuses on incidents that occurred during the clashes between Cameroon and Morocco, and Algeria against Nigeria.

Kooralife has learned that CAF received official reports, corroborated by video evidence, detailing conduct that potentially violates sporting spirit and professional discipline. These files have since been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee for review and the determination of appropriate punitive actions, should the infractions be substantiated.

The continental body clarified that the investigation extends beyond players and technical staff. It also encompasses a separate incident involving certain media representatives, who are suspected of engaging in inappropriate behavior within the mixed zone following the matches.

CAF’s statement emphasized zero tolerance for any conduct that tarnishes the image of continental competitions, particularly actions targeting referees or organizers. The confederation asserted that anyone found culpable of transgressions would be dealt with according to the established regulations within the CAF framework.

The statement concluded by reiterating that adherence to sporting values and ethical discipline remains a fundamental prerequisite for participating in CAF events, and any deviation will be met with decisive and unreserved disciplinary measures.
