Mauritanian Referee Dahane Beida to Officiate Morocco-Cameroon AFCON Quarter-Final
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Referees Committee has appointed a contingent led by Mauritanian referee Dahane Beida to oversee the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash between Morocco and Cameroon.
Beida will be assisted by two Angolan officials: Jerson Dos Santos as the first assistant referee and Sanches Lopes as the second assistant. Sudan’s Mahmoud Ali Ismail has been designated as the fourth official.
For the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, the committee has selected Ghana’s Daniel Laria as the lead VAR official. He will be supported by Tunisia’s Haythem Guirat as the first assistant VAR and Mauritania’s Aboubaker Sar as the second assistant VAR.
This appointment comes amidst significant anticipation for the match, given its competitive nature and the high stakes involved. The officiating team faces a substantial challenge to ensure the game is conducted fairly and in accordance with the rules, reflecting the importance of this continental event.
