Mohamed Talal, the former official spokesperson of Wydad Athletic Club, addressed an open letter to the current president, Ibrahim Al-Asri, urging him to protect the sanctity of Wydad’s house and cleanse the club’s environment, emphasizing the importance of controlling the club’s privacy and drawing inspiration from the approaches of former presidents Abdelrazak Makwar and Saeed Al-Nasiri in managing and handling Wydad’s affairs.
The letter, published by Talal on his official Facebook account, stressed that protecting the club and its stadium is a top priority for the president. He warned against turning Wydad’s house into an open arena for anyone wishing to interfere in the team’s matters. Talal reviewed the experiences of former presidents, pointing out that the success of Makwar and Al-Nasiri, despite their different methods, was linked to their ability to effectively manage the club’s environment and control interferences within it.
According to Talal, Haj Makwar, thanks to his diplomatic acumen, realized early on that building a strong team begins with cleaning Wydad’s house from inside and out, not just from the pitch. On the other hand, Saeed Al-Nasiri focused heavily on achieving titles and was ready to shut doors in front of everyone to ensure that no one approached Wydad’s environment, making the podium the only meeting point.
Talal’s vision sums up that Makwar succeeded due to his ability to protect the house and blend into the formation process, while Al-Nasiri succeeded in bringing titles and protecting the club’s environment from even close associates before outsiders. This call, as Talal affirmed, is not targeting anyone in particular but is a cry in service of Wydad’s interest and a return to the podiums, urging all components of the club to contribute to protecting the sanctity of Wydad’s house to preserve its stability and avoid chaos.
