Kroos Tips Morocco as 2026 World Cup Dark Horse
Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has named the Moroccan national team among the top contenders to impress at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, highlighting the remarkable development of the “Atlas Lions” in recent years.
In a press statement, Kroos remarked, “Spain, Portugal, and France are among the main favorites, but Morocco could be a surprise, as they have made significant technical progress in recent years.”
The former German international added that the competition would remain open despite the strength of certain teams. “I didn’t mention Brazil, but they also remain one of the favored teams,” he clarified.
Kroos also addressed the expansion of participating teams. “It’s good that many countries participate in the tournament, but I oppose expanding the number of teams to ensure player safety and guarantee the quality of the competition,” he stated.
The Moroccan national team will compete in the 2026 World Cup in Group C, alongside Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland. This presents a new challenge for a team from which even greater positive results are now anticipated.
